Prešov, Slovakia – 3 October 2024 – DEJONG, which operates as a separate business unit within Rheem Global Water, has completed the site selection process for its new plant. The company has chosen CTPark Prešov North as its new site. Construction has already begun on the 43.5 hectare parcel of land with a total lettable area (GLA) of 200,000 m².

The company plans to create hundreds of jobs once the plant is completed, with initial hiring already in progress and continuing in the coming months.

Lee Fletcher, DEJONG Slovakia’s plant director, stresses that the start of construction in Prešov represents a significant milestone in a journey that will combine industrial innovation with respect for Slovak values and traditions.

“DEJONG chose Eastern Slovakia for its skilled and multilingual workforce, experienced builders, developed rail and road infrastructure and strong government support. We have already invested heavily in this region and will continue to invest as we build our operations,” said Lee Fletcher.

“We are proud to be supporting DEJONG in building their new plant in Prešov. This investment is key to Rheem’s growth strategy in Europe. Together we will continue to provide innovative and sustainable heating system solutions for our customers,” said Arno La Haye, Managing Director Rheem Europe.

DEJONG has leased 33,068 m² on a long-term lease from the CTP Group. DEJONG’s new production facility at CTPark Prešov North, with 29,805 m² of production space and 3,263 m² of office space, will be a strategic hub to meet the growing demand for hot water storage tanks across Europe.

“CTP has sensed the growth potential of eastern Slovakia for a long time. We are ready to respond to the rapidly growing demand for industrial real estate. We are pleased to welcome DEJONG to our CTPark Prešov North. It is a partner that shares our ambition for long-term and sustainable growth in this dynamic region of Central and Eastern Europe. DEJONG’s presence in CTPark Prešov North will contribute significantly to its economic growth,” said Peter Čerešník, COO of CTP Group.

DEJONG Slovakia has made significant progress in recent months in the process of preparing the construction of its plant. Prior to its launch, the design phase has been completed and key management positions have been staffed at the company in Slovakia.

“We have introduced our management team to key positions that will be responsible for supervising the construction and future operations of DEJONG Slovakia. We are on track to start our operations by the first half of 2026. Recruitment for other key positions is in progress and we will strengthen our team in the coming months,” continued Fletcher. “We are looking forward to the reception we will receive from local governments, and we are beginning to work closely with them to ensure seamless integration and mutual support.”

As part of DEJONG’s multi-phase expansion, first products are expected in 2026. Since its acquisition by Rheem in 2022, DEJONG has doubled its production capacity and invested in long-term growth. Production in Slovakia will enable DEJONG to further expand its leading position in the European market.

DEJONG, founded in 1859, works closely with customers to develop hot water tanks for a variety of applications, including heat pumps, boiler configurations and solar systems. DEJONG is headquartered in Gorredijk in Netherlands, where it also operates its manufacturing plant and its European Technology Centre. Both operations are focused on sustainable products and optimizing the manufacturing processes. The company excels in innovations and products that reduce dependence on carbon fuels.
