Frequently asked questions

Trial operations at the plant are scheduled to start at the end of 2025, when the first products produced at the new plant will be available. Full-scale production is scheduled to start in the first half of 2026. We are currently in the initial construction phase.

The new plant in Prešov is expected to create around 500 jobs upon completion, thus strengthening the local labour market. In addition, we expect an overall strengthening of the local supply chain and the creation of additional related employment opportunities.

The planned capacity of the Prešov plant is one million hot water storage tanks per year, making Prešov a major producer and exporter of these products in Europe. This has the potential to significantly boost the regional economy.

Our priorities also include developing long-term relationships and supporting and developing communities in the regions where we operate. We believe that by working together we can bring value to the region and actively contribute to its overall development beyond the primary economic benefits.

The main reasons why DEJONG chose Prešov as the location for its new production plant include the availability of a skilled and linguistically equipped workforce, experienced builders and a well-developed rail and road infrastructure. In addition, our aim was to be closer to customers in this part of Europe and to contribute to reducing our carbon footprint and transport costs.

The Prešov North location was our first choice decision due to the easy accessibility of the northern bypass of the city and thus access to the national and international highway network.

In addition, we chose Prešov and Slovakia because of the shared values, understanding of cooperation and mutual support in the community of Eastern Slovakia and DEJONG.

Since we know that there are enough qualified professionals in Slovakia, DEJONG’s intention from the beginning is to entrust the operation to Slovak management who best understand how to run a company in the Slovak environment and culture. We strive to select individuals for key positions who not only excel in their roles, but also share common values and visions with our company.

At this point, we have completed the recruitment process for key management positions. These people will manage the next stages of the construction and start-up of production at our new plant in Prešov, which marks a significant step forward for us in serving our customers in this region.

In Slovakia, we want to establish a flagship production plant equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, adhering to the highest environmental and safety standards, as well as an innovative training centre. This plant will not only enable us to achieve our business and economic goals, but will also be an example of best practice in sustainability and achieving CO2 neutrality.
